The Decimal Clock is a mechanical clock handmade by
Matthew Read, Selby, North Yorkshire.

Details:

The dial divides the mean solar day into ten
decimal hours.  Each hour is divided into 100
decimal minutes, and each minute into 100
decimal seconds.

The movement (mechanism) is visible.

The clock runs for 10 days + on one winding. Huygens
endless rope system providing maintaining power (the
clock does not stop when it is being wound) and there is
no winding key to misplace.

Brocot type 'dead beat' escapement.

Temperature stable Carbon Fibre pendulum rod.

Micrometer beat adjustment on the pendulum suspension.

The large rating nut has 10 clearly marked graduations
for simple and precise adjustment.

The driving weight is filled with loose shot enabling
simple adjustment.

All arbors (axles) run in precision ball races, minimising
maintenance.

The highly legible white on black dial was produced using
CAD CAM.

The pendulum is rigidly supported on the back-board for
superior timekeeping.

For interpretation, the clock is flanked by standard 12
and 24 hour dials.
